Invisible Cold
A shiver of cold enters my embrace,
Crawling towards my skin to breathe in
With every inch it takes, it gives me a mile
To leave nothing else behind but a trail
A silent whisper across my solid presence,
Never speaking of words I’ve never heard before
But seems to be lost in my thoughts anyway
And finding its way throughout the maze of my heart
I seem to be getting lost underneath its touch
Lying liquid on the surface, seeping in
Craving to be forgotten but it stays here
And its presence seems to be offered
To only my time and affection
A moment of confusion breaks through me,
When it releases more than just a cold
Not even lasting just on my skin anymore
To leave nothing behind but a longing
A silent kiss is left behind on my lips
Never releasing an embrace in which I can’t hide
But seems to have caught me wandering anyway
And getting lost by bringing me back and forth
It seems to be holding me close by letting go
Lying solid on the surface, melting through
Craving to be forlorn but it remembers me
And its presence seems to be offered
To only my time and affection
Closing my eyes seems to make this distance
Of the appearing cold and my warm embrace
Only getting less throughout my veins
And I yearn for another offered kiss
One which should have never left its mind
Upon gathering light in my eyes
This distance seems to be more than I thought
Though the cold stays left lingering on my skin
Lying liquid on my skin, seeping in
Craving to be forgotten but staying here
And its presence seems to be offered
To only my time and affection
