Thin Ice
Opened away from the path I knew
Closed words and a breath blowing over
Deeper underneath the skin
Melting away from my heart
And nothing else caught the wave of it
The sand underneath my feet is growing
Liquid ways of fallen inside,
Reaching to the outside there was nothing more
Felt like a fire coming out of the inner soul
Carved deeply, lying entwined with mine
And it only was there to guide the stars
Just because they’ve fallen out and in
And I ran over the sand
Widely open eyes looking for the inner kind
This path I always knew
But now released more out of me
From even deeper freedom than my soul
Will ever let through
I was walking on thin ice
Before I knew the sun was brighter
It’s just water that melts
Skies were clear you said
Had no open thoughts for the breathless wind
How would I know how to open this
If closed will only be the way to re-open
I told you there flew something right above me,
Telling me of places I used to see
But now are walking out and in of me
And we stare at you to find it
Haven’t I said before it felt like a fire
Just burning to guide the stars away
From the cruel, endless night which will fall
Just because they’ve fallen out and in
And I ran over the sand
I said I could find it and bring them
This path I always knew
Will return me to that state of mind,
Until the past falls shattered on the ground,
I am walking on thin ice
And only the sun knows she’s brighter
To melt away the dark
You stared at the sky and found its crawling feeling,
Hunting over the arms of the sky
Leading away van and closed thoughts
We both ran over the sand,
If we can catch the fire the stars might stay
But even without it there’ll be light
You said you could find this path
This path I always knew
And I ran over the sand,
I am walking on thin ice,
And only the sun, she knows she’s brighter
To melt away the dark
